Amitabh Bachchan was born on 11 October 1942. His initial name was Inquilab Srivastava which was The famous inspirational phrase used during the Indian freedom struggle ‘Inquilab Zindabad’.
Amitabh Bachchan‘s father, Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a famous Hindi poet, while his mother Teji Bachchan belonged to the Karachi city of undivided India.
Amitabh is the eldest son of Harivansh Rai Bachchan &His youngest brother’s name is Ajitabh.

In college, Amitabh Bachchan obtained a master’s degree in two subjects. He has the title of Master of Arts from Gyan Prabodhini and Boys’ High School in Allahabad and then he was admitted to the Faculty of Arts in.
At the same time, Amitabh also participated in the college theatre “The Players”. Here he got an opportunity to enhance his acting and from that, he was born a great artist.
Amit Ji’s mother Teji Bachchan had a keen interest in theatre and she had offered a role in the film also but she preferred to be a homemaker. She wanted Amitabh to pursue a career in acting.

Struggles of Amitabh Bachchan
Friends, we are all crazy about his voice, but it was a loud voice. But there was a time when Amitabh Bachchan went for selection in All India Radio before coming to films where he was rejected for his voice.
He was told that his voice is not right for radio. Referring to Big B as a ‘thin man’. Ameen Sayani didn’t even realise that he was the same man whose persona bowled him. Over when he watched ‘Anand’ for the first time.
Once in an Interview, Ameen Sayani told that –
“Today, though I regret denying him an audition, I realise that what happened was for the best for both of us.
I would have been on the streets and he would have got so much work on the radio that Indian cinema would have lost its biggest star,”
He sought a job in many places in Delhi but nowhere did he get the expected results. but he did not disappoint here, he came to Mumbai he gave a lot of auditions for roles in films but due to his height he was rejected many times, initially when he was in Mumbai, He spent many nights on Marine Drive.
During his struggle days, he stayed in the house of actor, director and comedy king Mahmood Saheb for a long period of seven years.
Beginning of Amitabh Bachchan’s Bollywood Career
After great efforts, finally, he started his career in movies. Bachchan started his career in films as one of the seven actors in the film Saat Hindustani. It was released on 7 November 1969, directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas. The film did not achieve financial success. But Bachchan won the Best Newcomer Award at the National Film Awards for his first film.
The film was followed by another film called Anand (1971) in which he worked with the then-popular artist Rajesh Khanna. Amitabh Bachchan won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Anand movie.
After a lot of efforts, he started working in films but about 12 films flopped one after the other, but Amit Ji fall under one of the stubborn people, he never gave up and kept his hope alive.
Finally, his luck flashed and in 1973, Prakash Mehra gave him the opportunity to play the role of Inspector Vijay Khanna. In his film Zanjeer (1973). It was from here, his career took a new turn in progress.
#Angry Young man
The film was a touch of sarcasm to the earlier romance-filled essence that saw Amitabh Bachchan in a new role. Angry Youngman, who became a Bollywood action hero, which was the reputation he would later pursue in his films.
1973 was the year when he married Jaya on 3 June. And at the same time, both of them appeared not only in Zanjeer. but in many films together like Abhimaan which was released only one month after their marriage.
Later in 1973, he did the Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s direction film Namak Haram, which was written by Biresh Chatterjee portrayed the role of Vikram. He was highly appreciated in his supporting role opposite Rajesh Khanna and Rekha and was given the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Two movies in 1975, Which proved to be a milestone in Amitabh’s career.
First, In 1975 He played the lead role in Yash Chopra-directed film Deewar, starring Shashi Kapoor, Nirupa Roy and Neetu Singh, and won him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor
Second in Sholay, which was released on August 15, 1975, and became the highest-grossing film of any time in India, grossing Rs.2,37,65,00,000, which was equals to the 40 million Americans Dollar.
BBC India named the film as a film of the century and like DEEWAR it was included in the top 25 films of Bollywood in the India times movies.
Later he played such a strong role in his films that gave our Bollywood a new star and he did many super hit films in his coming years like, Amar, Akbar & Anthony (1977), Don (1978), Trishul (1978), Coolie (1983), Pink(2016), Black (2005) etc. and reached the pinnacle of success.

It happened on 26th July 1982 while shooting for the movie Coolie directed by Prayag Raj and Manmohan Desai in Bangalore.
During a fight scene performed between Amitabh Bachchan and Puneet Issar, and when Punnet Issar hits Amitabh. He was supposed to fall on the iron table, unfortunately, the table edge struck hard on the lower Abdomen of Mr Bachchan which caused the near-fatal injury.
He came out of a small medical coma on 2nd Aug and resumed coolie shooting in Jan 1983. After the accident on the sets of Coolie, Puneet Issar become a villain in the country. When Amitabh met Issar after the accident, he told Issar that he has no regrets about him and this kind of accidents do happen.
Partial Retirement from Bollywood & Politics Career
But after becoming a superstar, there was a time when all his films started to flop. After that he started a new inning in politics, From 1984-1987, Amitabh Ji stood with Rajiv Gandhi in politics, the public won him with huge votes. But even then he could not succeed and did not fulfil the promises that he did it with the public. He resigned in order to not fulfil the promised promises.
After the retirement of three years from Bollywood
He then appeared in films and won the National Award in 1990 along with Agneepath. After this Amitabh Ji opened the production house, ABCL, with him in 1996 Miss World joined him. The production house was going well for him. He also did some films but it all flopped. Amitabh made the film deathbed in his company ABCL and returned to the big screen with it in 1997. Soon he was unable to pay the dues, he was found Almost bankrupt that time.
Critics have written that Amitabh saved his career by working in the film Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan (1998).
But in 1999, four films flopped and its sinking company ABCL had a debt of over 90 crores, which was under great pressure to fill them.
At that time the trio Khan were in the rise, In the 1990s, Amitabh’s magic stopped running at the box office. His films were not playing at the box office. Due to which Amitabh Ji made himself distant from films.
In 2000, he got an opportunity to work on a small screen and he started hosting on the small screen with ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. Initially, his family were happy with his decision Jaya Ji told that you are a Superstar of big screen, Bollywood it’s not good for you to work in small screen, Amitabh Bachchan gave a very decent reply to his wife Jaya Bachchan, “ Looser can’t be the Chooser”, and the rest is history and the serial became a huge success. He cleared his all dues and legal charges and took his career to another milestone
